Pentoxifylline E.R. Tablets may be used in horses to increase the life span of red blood cells and blood flow to areas not receiving enough blood. Pentoxifylline ER Tablets may be used in the treatment of non-healing skin ulcers, wounds, frostbite, navicular disease and founder. Also used to reduce blood vessel inflammation in cats with feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). Pentoxifylline E.R. is a hemorheologic agent that acts to improve blood flow by decreasing blood viscosity and increasing red cell flexibility.
